A new kind of wellness is coming to the South Sound.
Ballaura Wellness Spa is expanding into a new home in Tumwater, bringing massage and facials together with an all-new bathhouse experience designed around contrast, restoration and connection.

The idea is ancient and beautifully simple. Move between warmth, cold, water and rest, repeating the cycle at your own pace. It’s a ritual designed to slow you down, bring you into the moment, and give you space to simply be.
For centuries, cultures around the world have gathered around heat, water and communal bathing as a way to restore and connect.
Now, Ballaura is bringing our own modern expression of that tradition to the South Sound.

Massage and facials aren't going anywhere. They're moving into a dedicated treatment wing with more rooms than we have today. What's new is Soak & Sauna: thermal soaking pools, a Finnish sauna, cold plunge, cold dump buckets, showers, a salt lounge, and spaces designed for rest and connection.
The Thermal Pools
Three pools — warm, hot and cold — to move through at your own pace, as many rounds as you like.
Cold dump buckets
A sudden rush of cold between rounds of heat. Quick, refreshing, and invigorating.
Treatment rooms
Dedicated spaces for massage and facials, with the same Ballaura therapists and estheticians you know, now with more room to restore.
The Salt Lounge
Warm, quiet, and made for lingering. Somewhere to sit and do nothing in particular, which turns out to be the point.
Rest + lounge spaces
Thoughtful spaces to cool down, gather, connect, or simply be between rounds of the thermal circuit.
The Experience
Two hours. No itinerary.
Your Soak & Sauna experience is two hours, and it's yours to spend however you like. Move between the thermal pools, the sauna, the cold, and the rest spaces as often as you want, in whatever order feels right. There's no "right way" to move through the circuit.
Most people find their rhythm in the first round — heat until you've had enough, cold to wake you back up, rest until you're ready to go again. Stay in the circuit the whole two hours or spend half of them lying down. Both are doing it right.
Everything is included: pools, sauna, cold plunge, dump buckets, salt lounge, and every quiet place to sit down in between.
Massage & Facials
No two treatments are the same.
Every massage and facial at Ballaura is built around the person on the table. Your therapist takes the time to understand what you’re looking for that day and personalizes your treatment through pressure, pacing, focus, and technique.
Complimentary enhancements are included, and advanced techniques are available at no additional charge depending on your practitioner. Every treatment is personalized around what you need that day.
Our facials feature organic Laurel Skin products along with intentional facial massage, including fascia and lymphatic-focused techniques.
